If someone is attributing a common human trait to only one group (i.e. Jews), point out that many different people have that quality. You could say, "I don't think that's a Jewish thing, there are people of all backgrounds who act that way sometimes."

Individualize the issue
If someone makes a broad statement about Jews, ask "do you mean all Jews, or are you talking about a specific individual?"
